Hi, my name is Mariposa. I am an approximately 1
year old bl brindle and white female Pit Bull. I have been at Orange
County Animal Services since Thursday, April 30, 2009
Yes Mariposa is a
Pitbull, however I have met her personally and despite what she's been
through she's always smiling when I visit her and still has a zest for
life.
Mariposa was in a pen with at least one other dog. She
was pregnant. She was delivering her babies when the other dog or
dogs, starting attacking and killing the babies. Mariposa was also
brutally attacked and this is why you see the scars in the picture.
This attack went on for 40 minutes which the owner heard and did
nothing about. After the attack Mariposa laid in pain from her wounds
and also the sadness of losing her babies. This isn't the end of it
though...One of her babies died before it was delivered and Mariposa
almost died. Without the help of OCAS getting her and doing an
emergency c-section and removing the last dead baby, Mariposa wouldn't
be with us today trying to find a home.
If you know of anyone that can look past her breed and foster or adopt, please let me know.

is a local rescue even offering to cover the cost of HW treatment FOR
